The Nursing Union, SATSE, has denounced this Thursday the lack of hiring reinforcements of nurses for this year’s vaccination campaigns, a situation that “it will cause delays” in the development and monitoring of these campaigns, despite being a prevention tool “fundamental” that they cannot “sustain” without the nurses.

“Insufficient provision It slows down processes, which must be agile, hinders equitable access to vaccination, especially in rural or hard-to-reach areas, and puts immunization objectives at risk, which if not met end in an increase in consultations, emergencies, admissions, which cause the entire health system to be overloaded months later,” SATSE pointed out.

After this, he explained that the communities that have not carried out reinforcement contracts are Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, the Valencian Community, La Rioja, Murcia and Navarra, as well as the provinces of Palencia, Barcelona and Tarragona.
