“Hopefully governments are encouraged to develop systems that alert cities about dangerous heat and humidity. For the average citizen, it is important to develop habits to combat heat: stay hydrated, stay at home, wear breathable clothes and consider visiting public places with air conditioning, such as shopping centers or libraries,” concludes the first author of the study.
