The preliminary data, published in an article in Journal of Urologysuggest that this approach could help in early detection, the identification of patients with a higher risk of recurrence after treatment with curative intent and the follow-up of patients under active surveillance for this tumor, the IISPV reports in a statement this Tuesday.

The advance represents “a relevant step” towards personalized medicine in urology and, although more prospective studies with a larger number of patients are required, the results obtained so far are highly promising, according to the researchers.
