The Community of Madrid has announced the start of the vaccination campaign for the autumn season, which will begin the October 15, 2025, Date chosen to coincide with the period of greatest circulation of different respiratory viruses. For that, the administration of the region has acquired about two million doses, with a total investment of 33 million euros.
Of the total dose, 1.6 million are intended for flua disease that, in addition to causing respiratory infections, can cause cardiovascular complications. The flu vaccine is recommended to people over 60, patients with chronic diseases, pregnant women, children between 6 months and 4 years old, already residents of the elderly.
The vaccination campaign also includes measures against Syncitial respiratory virus (VRS), which is the main cause of bronchitis. In this case, it is not a conventional vaccine, but a monoclonal antibody that is aimed at babies under 6 months, which will allow some 50,000 infants in the region to be immunicated.

On the other hand, the Community of Madrid has acquired 320,000 doses of the vaccine against the Human papillomavirus (HPV), which will be administered to 12 -year -old children. These vaccines are key to preventing cervical cancer and other diseases associated with HPV, which can affect both women and men.
All doses of the different vaccines will be stored in the fridge cameras of the International Community Vaccination Center of Madridensuring its correct conservation and distribution throughout the campaign.
With this campaign, the Community of Madrid reinforces its commitment to the prevention of different infectious diseases, prioritizing the protection of the most vulnerable people and promoting vaccination as an important public health tool.
